What a month it has been for us at Sägen Film.
First of all — thank you to everyone who came to SÄGEN FILMKVÄLL 2025 (“Sägen Filmnight”) at Varbergs Teater! Nearly two hundred people filled the theatre for a night of folklore, horror, and cinematic passion. We’re still buzzing from the atmosphere — the warmth of the audience, the laughter, the sharp questions, and the deep curiosity shown
toward both our older and newer films.

A huge thanks also to folklore expert Tommy Kuusela (Oknytt Sverige), who joined us on stage and shared his unique insights into the myths that continue to inspire our stories. And of course, a heartfelt gratitude to our recurring benefactors Varbergs Kommun and Region Halland — without your support, Sägen Film simply wouldn’t exist on the level we do today. Here’s to free culture and the wild creative spirits keeping it alive.
The Star Has Landed
Meanwhile… Containment breached. 👽
Our newest short film, STAR BEAST, has finally escaped and made it to Earth.
It’s our love-letter to Alien, crafted with all the tension, atmosphere, and effects we adore from late-70s and early-80s sci-fi horror.

The story follows a young but seasoned security guard who responds to a break-in at a warehouse — only to find herself hunted by a deadly visitor from the stars.
You can now watch STAR BEAST on our YouTube channel.👉 Watch it here!
What Lies Ahead
While Star Beast now stalks the internet, our focus has already shifted to two major projects.
Our festival run for Tiny Coffin is in full swing — the little film with the big heart is being sent out into the world, and we can’t wait to share where it ends up.
At the same time, we’re putting the final touches on Christmas Of The Dead — finishing sound, effects, and everything else needed to unleash what might be our biggest and most ambitious production yet.

The road ahead is filled with work, late nights, and that familiar mix of chaos and joy — but that’s exactly how we like it.
The beast is out, the coffins are packed, and Christmas is coming.
Stay tuned — the next chapter of Sägen is only just beginning.
