The leaves are falling, and just like every year, autumn is truly Sägen’s season!
2025 has been packed to the brim with shoots, events, and most of all – heavy post-production on not one, not two, but three projects. These three will soon start firing off like a Sägen-style barrage across the Nordics and onto your screens at home. When we officially founded Sägen Film back in 2022, we set out a clear roadmap for what we wanted to create and achieve in the coming years. Through love, sweat, and more than a little blood, we dare say we’ve managed to stay true to that vision.
As we move into 2026, Albin will be shifting focus to writing our feature film – and however long that process takes, so be it. Meanwhile, the rest of the crew will keep exploring with short films and experiments, so the creative spark won’t die down. Still, 2026 will likely be a bit of a catch-your-breath year for us.
That said – right now we’re in the middle of the most jam-packed season we’ve ever had!
STAR BEAST – Winner of both Best Film and the Audience Award in Halland, coming soon!
CHRISTMAS OF THE DEAD – Only sound, music, and VFX magic left to go. In its current form it’s a wild rollercoaster, packed with love letters to the films we grew up with. As promised, it will be released this Christmas!
TINY COFFIN – A completely different mood this time around, taking you on an emotional ride swinging between anxiety and hope. Festival submissions begin next week, with release planned for 2026.
We’ll celebrate all of this together with you at Varberg Theatre on October 26 at a sold-out SÄGEN FILMKVÄLL, featuring special guest Tommy Kuusela, folklore expert extraordinaire! We want to thank both Varberg Municipality and Region Halland, who have supported us since the beginning. And we want to thank you – our audience – for cheering us on.
It means everything.
Finally, an enormous thank you to all the incredible teams we’ve been fortunate enough to work with through the years. Both in front of and behind the camera, from Halland all the way up to Sundsvall – thank you, thank you, thank you.
