Spring has arrived, and Sägen Film has shaken off the long fimbulwinter. The Fenrir mascot is stirring… and just like the prophecy foretold, it’s starting to set its sights on bigger prey.

Feature films.

Yes, plural. Sägen Film currently has two in development. It’s still too early to reveal much, but Albin Glasell is already working on the second draft of one, while Bjarki Kjellsson is wrapping up the first draft of the other. Until more can be shared, one thing is certain: Sägen’s fourth year is shaping up to be a busy one.

Read on for the rest of the spring report!

“Tiny Coffin” is about to receive its first round of festival feedback, and later on the film will be released together with MoveMotion Film Production so that everyone can experience it. Hang tight just a little longer.

The Torup trilogy is also nearing its end. This autumn, Sägen Film will shoot “The Wolf 3” with Mikael Riesebeck and Hasse Brontén in leading roles, together with Agnes Gester at the very front. It will be a victory lap, a culmination of the first phase of short films where the entire Sägen crew comes together one more time.

After that, Albin will shift focus toward writing and producing short films, while placing greater emphasis on developing and directing feature films.

Meanwhile, the puppet film “Över det korta gräset” (formerly “Tabula Rasa”), written by Tage Olsson, is quietly taking shape in Rävlanda at FIXAS. The visit there can be seen in the film linked below. It will likely be the last short film directed by Albin Glasell, but it’s still further down the line and requires both time and care to get right.

Until then, the rest of Sägen continues creating from all directions. No one will be left starving. There are already whispers of a new short film from Agnes, and Erik Engbo will keep delivering behind-the-scenes material along with new formats throughout the year, just to name a few things.

And of course… this autumn brings the third Sägen Filmkväll in Varberg. 🍿

Sägen Film moves forward and the work continues. 🎥
