A chilling Nordic short about grief, fear, and the love that lingers

This spring, production wrapped on Tiny Coffin — a harrowing, emotionally charged short film produced by Emma Nordström and her company MovEmotion, in co-production with Sägen Film. With a creative team made up of both Swedish and Norwegian talent, Tiny Coffin is an international collaboration rooted in the raw, eerie heart of Nordic storytelling.

Written by Agnes Gester and directed by Albin Glasell, the film centers on a grieving father whose daughter returns from the dead — but not as the child he remembers. As grief spirals into delusion, the line between love and madness dissolves.

Inspired by the folktale of the myling — the spirit of a dead child returning to haunt the living — the story is a deeply personal exploration of guilt, loss, and the terrifying need to hold on when we should let go. Drawing visual and thematic inspiration from The Babadook, Relic, and Possession, Tiny Coffin blends psychological horror with emotional realism, all grounded in a gritty Scandinavian setting.

The film was shot in April 2025 and is now entering post-production, with editing and sound design continuing through the fall. The team, including cinematographer Erik Engbo and composer Elin Hedberg and a standout cast led by Jesper Gester and Ingeborg Engø, is aiming for a festival run in 2026.
